Hi ! I am Shagufta!

An Award winning Indian Chef.

I spent most of my career as a  merchandize retailer before I made a bold and inspiring transition into the culinary world. I started my catering business and worked as a consultant for various food startups.  I now run my own cooking class and  recipes blog- Cooking with Shagufta.

If you choose to enroll for  my cooking class sessions, I promise to share with you tips and tricks that I have learnt over a period of time, which in turn will help you cook delicious Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.

“At Cooking with Shagufta, I don’t only share Recipes and Cooking tips, but also engage with my community of learners and food lovers to support and mentor them at every step of their journey, helping them build confidence, explore new dishes and develop master skills in the kitchen.”

Coaching/Mentoring Style

In my cooking class, several training methods are used to ensure participants gain both practical and theoretical knowledge. here are some key methods that are deployed in my sessions irrespective of whether you enroll for a virtual cooking class or take an in-person session

1) Demonstration: Demonstration on how to prepare and cook a dish step by step. This helps my learners, observe techniques, ingredient handling and cooking process

2) Hands-0n Practice: After a demonstration, students are given the chance to practice the techniques themselves.

3) Theoretical Instruction: I make it a point to discuss the recipe in detail, discussing ingredient choices,

 substitutions, and flavor profiles.

4) Promote Understanding of Ingredients: I help my students/clients understand how to select, store, and use different ingredients, including fresh produce, meats, spices, and oils.

5) Foster Safe Kitchen Practices: Last but not the least, I Teach proper kitchen hygiene, food safety, and equipment handling to avoid accidents and contamination.
